Surf Hostel Biarritz offers you an incredible 3 in 1 package : Bed + Breakfast + Board !
Surf Hostel Biarritz is the ideal place for solo backpackers, surfers and small group travelers. We offer comfortable rooms with free breakfast and free surfboard use, free parking, bike and wetsuit rental, surf and yoga classes and more! For our digital nomads we set up a new work space with fast wifi. The house is located about 2km from the airport and train station. Come in as a guest, discover Biarritz and it’s beautiful beaches and surroundings, including the Pyrénées and the Basque Country, meet our friendly Surf Hostel Team and other amazing travelers and leave as a friend!
Our Rooms
The Surf Hostel is a charming and historical Basque house with a lot of history, completely renovated with two independent parts and entries. You have the main hostel with 5 rooms and 15 beds (Milady, Marbella, Grande Plage, Côte des Basques, Miramar) and the hostel extension since 2023 with another 3 rooms and 10 beds (Belza, Mouscariette, Le Phare). Both hostels have their own kitchen and bathroom facilities. You can choose to stay in our mixed dormitory rooms, or book a private room for you and your friend or as a couple.
Free surfboard use and breakfast included.
Prices range from 35€-150€ per night, depending on season and room. We also offer special rates for Group Bookings (6 or more people) as well as Surf Camp Packages with lessons included in collaboration with Private Surf School Biarritz.

Dörte and Thomas have been running the hostel together since 2018. Candice, originally from Mauritius, joined our team in 2023. Marvin, on the right, is from the region and has been part of the adventure since last year.

My Surf Hostel journey began in 2015 in Biarritz, before expanding to Bidart the following year. In 2018, after the closure of the Bidart location, my husband Thomas and I naturally took over the Biarritz hostel to continue growing a project that truly reflects who we are.
Today, we are committed to creating a warm and welcoming place where your stay becomes an unforgettable experience.

THE BEGINNING
The story of Surf Hostel began in the summer of 2009. Christophe and Melissa left Australia with their seven children to settle into what is now the main hostel. When their landlord offered them a new apartment with three additional bedrooms, an idea took shape: why not transform this space into a hostel, offering a complete package: Bed + Breakfast + Surfboard? That’s exactly what they did.
